KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - After leading Major League Baseball in hits in consecutive seasons, it’s no surprise Kansas City Royals shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. has won back-to-back Silver Sluggers.

The 25-year-old Royals star took home the American League’s Silver Slugger at shortstop for the second year in a row after an MLB-leading 184 hits, a .295 batting average to go along with 23 home runs and 88 RBI.

Witt Jr. was one of four Royals named Silver Slugger finalists, along with catcher Salvador Perez, third baseman Maikel Garcia and first baseman Vinnie Pasquantino. Bobby Baseball was the only Royal who brought home the award when winners were announced Friday.

Perez was beat out at catcher by Seattle Mariners star Cal Raleigh. Garcia was edged by Cleveland Guardians All-Star Jose Ramirez
