SURFSIDE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) -- Surfside Beach Police Chief Bill Mickle, who had his interim tag removed late last month, was officially sworn-in on Friday.
Mickle told News13 he feels the department was doing well before he took over in July after Kenneth Davis' resignation, and he plans to keep that momentum moving forward. He credits his predecessor, Davis, with leaving the department in a good place.
Moving forward, Mickle says he plans to utilize the community support he's received, maintain accountability and transparency, and continue providing premier law enforcement services.
