FLORENCE COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) -- No injuries were reported after crews responded late Friday afternoon for an equipment fire near the Florence Regional Airport.

Crews from the airport's Department of Public Safety along with the Windy Hill Fire Company responded at about 4 p.m. to Lauder Drive off East Palmetto Street for a reported wood chipper fire. The equipment was reported to be about 75% involved at arrival.

The fire was quickly contained and extinguished without spreading to other equipment, officials said. The scene was cleared shortly after 5 p.m., and there was no impact to airport operations or airport traffic.
