PAINTSVILLE, Ky. (WYMT) -Hundreds of people gathered on the Johnson Central football field Thursday night, mixing a football celebration with a faith conversation.

A student-led revival broke out on the sidelines following the team’s victory, inviting folks to the field for worship.

The meet up was fueled by students who have been attending an ongoing 14-day revival at Hager Hill Freewill Baptist Church.

The church pastor, Ronnie Spriggs, said the “Awakening Revival” has expanded far beyond the church walls, which have been torn down to accommodate the growing desire to worship.
