MINDEN, Neb. (KSNB) — Minden Public Schools will construct a new elementary building to replace its century-old facility, using funds for the more than $ 27 million project approved by voters.
The current East Elementary building presents multiple challenges, including security vulnerabilities and infrastructure problems, according to district officials.
“Our vestibule at the front of East Elementary just has one set of doors, so once you’re let in you have access the entire East Elementary building,” said Sandy Pohl, East Elementary Principal for Minden Public Schools.
Building faces multiple infrastructure issues
The aging building also experiences electrical and internet issues along with other infrastructure problems typical of older facilities.
