Right now, the bill SB 9 / HB 1328 / SB 1950 “End-of-Life Options for Terminally Ill Patients” would allow a mentally capable adult with a terminal disease and prognosis of six months or less to request physician-prescribed “aid-in-dying” medication.

In a society where health care is expensive, resources limited, and stigma against disability pervasive, individuals may feel pressured — consciously or unconsciously — to see themselves as burdens.
