INDIANAPOLIS — While airlines are offering flexible ticket changes and cancellations, you may still need to think about the hotel.
Because a shutdown is beyond the airline's control, a hotel waiver from them is off the table. Outside of the shutdown, airline hotel waiver policies can be found of the Department of Transportation dashboard.
That leaves you with a few other options.

"Food, transport to and from the airport, or to and from the hotel," she said. "Things like that can really be bundled underneath these trip or travel disruption coverages that credit cards can offer."
