INDIANAPOLIS — As we get closer to winter , expensive utility bills that come with heating homes can be concerning.
Some people are seeking help to make that more affordable. For now, funding remains in place during the federal government shutdown.
The Energy Assistance Program, known as Indy EAP, provides financial assistance to income-eligible households in Marion County. It helps them maintain utility services during the winter — getting assistance with electric and heating costs.
Sean McVey lives in Indianapolis with his wife and kids and said this program helps them as they face financial struggles and deaths in the family.
"Life is what they say 'lifing,'" McVey said. "This program is a really good thing for people out here that really need it. I can say that."
