RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — On Poole Road in southeast Raleigh, a new development is filling the gap between affordable and luxury housing.

Duke Properties and Construction on Friday broke ground on PNTE 35, the first privately-funded development of attainable housing in Raleigh. It will be at no cost to taxpayers.

"We're focused on attainable housing and workforce housing, a missing middle product that doesn't exist here in this area," said Nasir Dukes, founder of Dukes Properties and Construction.

The developer will transform 1.8 acres at the corner of Poole and Sunnybrook Roads into townhomes for the middle class, ranging from $395,000 to $425,000.
