HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) - Joseph Mucha, a veteran and resident of the Holyoke Veterans Home, has donated funds to purchase a new passenger van for the facility.

The new van, equipped with state-of-the-art technology, will accommodate up to nine residents, including those in wheelchairs, and will be used to transport veterans around Holyoke.

"I know these veterans have been through a lot of combat and more. I've been through it myself, so my feelings are with them. This is something they deserve, and whatever I can do, I am going to do it for them," said Joseph Mucha.

The executive director of the Holyoke Veterans Home expressed gratitude for Mucha's generous donation.

Mucha and his family were honored by being the first group to ride in the new van.
