Berks County-based Tower Health announced that it is laying off hundreds of its employees.

Among those laid off are medical staff at Pottstown Hospital in Montgomery County as the ICU gets shut down and other programs are ending.
Tower Health also operates Reading Hospital in West Reading and Phoenixville Hospital in Chester County.
The company also co-owns Saint Christopher's Hospital for Children in Philadelphia.
There's no word yet on if the layoffs will affect operations at the other facilities.
