David Kip Heyde, who was charged with second-degree murder in connection to the killing of Bailey Scott has waived his right to a jury trial and had a bench trial date set.

A probable cause statement said Heyde called Moberly police and told them he shot Scott over a disagreement on his front porch in early July in the 900 block of East Logan Street, according to previous KOMU 8 reporting .

According to a statement written by a Missouri State Highway Patrol sergeant, Heyde allegedly admitted to shooting the woman and said she had died.

Heyde told investigators that after Scott came to his porch, he walked outside his home with a handgun behind his back, according to the probable cause statement.
