BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- New court documents detail the escape, investigation and arrest of 22-year-old Francisco Garcia. He's the self-identified Colonia Street Bakers gang member who ran from deputies while at Kern Medical back in September.
The escape led to a three-day manhunt that ended at a home in Lamont. The 111-page investigative report from the Kern County Sheriff's Office describes how Garcia got away, how the sheriff's office investigated it and how they found him.
But there is still a remaining question: How did Garcia get his handcuffs and leg shackles off?
Reports filed by sheriff's investigators said Garcia asked to use the bathroom while at Kern Medical for an injury authorities believe he faked. One of his handcuffs was removed.
He remained in the bathroom, alone
