LOS ANGELES — and his wife Kayla announced the death of their child Friday.

"Our beautiful daughter went to heaven Sunday October 26th," the couple posted to "There are no words to describe the pain we’re going through but we hold her in our hearts and cherish every second we had with her."

They named their daughter Sterling Sol Vesia. The included a black and white photo of their hands stacked together with their daughters.

The post included a thanks to the Dodgers, the fans and the medical staff who helped Sterling and Kayla for their understanding and support.

"Our baseball family showed up for us and we wouldn’t be able to do this without them," the statement said. "Every person we came across was truly so incredible."
