NORMAL ( 25News Now ) - The Trump administration agreed to fully fund SNAP benefits on Friday, but it is still leaving people waiting, including college students and their families.

The pause has been impacting some college students, according to administrators at Illinois State University in Normal.

Assistant Dean of Students Dr. Donald Reed said more students have been coming into his office asking for assistance. He said it’s important to the university to help students in need to the best of the administrators’ abilities.

“If a certain level is not met, basic physiological levels, like food, housing, and security, then a student cannot fully focus on higher-level things,” he said.
