UPDATE: Two men are in custody following a shooting on Friday afternoon that left one person injured in Chattanooga.

Around 12:50pm, Chattanooga Police responded to a report of a fight in the 2400 block of Glass Street. While officers were on the way, the call was updated to a report of a person shot. When they arrived, officers found a 61-year-old man suffering from non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. He was taken to a hospital by Hamilton County EMS.

Investigators say the incident began as a fight between the victim and 75-year-old John Goode, who was armed with a machete. During the struggle, police say the victim drew a firearm but dropped it. That’s when 45-year-old James Goode allegedly picked up the gun and handed it to John Goode, who then shot the victim.
