About 200 people cheered loudly Friday night as hundreds of bistro lights lit up overhead in a Main Street block between Monroe Street and Maplewood Avenue in uptown Sylvania.
The crowd gathered to celebrate the lighting of the bistro lights that capped off a $4.5 million block renovation project.
It included the installation of brick pavers in parking areas and replacement of temporary wood installations with the permanent ADA-compliant pavers on all sidewalks to provide uninhibited access to businesses on the block, according to Sylvania Mayor Mark Frye, who led the celebration.
“I love coming uptown, but now that the parking is better and there’s better access to the shops and all those things that are very important to me, I love it even more,” said T.J. Buchholz, a 10-year Sylvania
