ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. (WKRG) — Escambia County Public Schools are partnering with a local food bank to put together a food drive for the holidays.
Collection boxes from ECPS Warehouse Services have been delivered to schools for donations.
The theme for the drive, set to end on Dec. 5, is "Let's Tackle Hunger!" with hopes of 20,000 pounds of food collected.
Community members are asked to donate mixed vegetables, oatmeal (boxes of individual packets), canned chicken and tuna (12.5 oz or smaller), peanut butter (16.3 oz or smaller), canned beans, canned soups, and shelf-stable microwaveable dinners.
