ST. PAUL — The road to a repeat championship continued for the Hawley Nuggets on Friday at Grand Casino Arena.
Kendallynn Hill, Annaka Johnson and Katie Vetter each had 10 kills to lead the top-seeded Nuggets to a 25-18, 25-15, 25-23 victory against No. 5-seeded New Life Academy in the Minnesota Class 2A volleyball state semifinals.
"They’re just savoring every moment, treasuring every moment," said Hawley head coach Kathleen Rustad. "You’re not going to remember the exact games, but you are going to remember the people that you did it with. I think they are treasuring these moments.”
Hawley can add to those memories. The Nuggets (31-2) have a chance to defend their state title at 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, against third-seeded Chatfield, which swept Albany on Friday.
