TEXAS — Thousands of people could see their flights canceled as the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) institutes its plans to reduce air traffic at major airports because of the government shutdown. Some of these airports are here in Texas.
According to the flight tracking site FlightAware , there were about 60 canceled flights at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport and nearly 40 delays Friday morning.
Dallas Love Field also saw nearly 40 delays with 18 cancellations.
Houston’s William P. Hobby Airport had 31 delays and 15 cancellations.
George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston had 33 cancellations and about 24 delays.
