The second half of the NJSIAA South Jersey, Group 3 quarterfinal matchup between top-seed Moorestown and eight-seed Mainland was taken over by the Quakers’ Jack Vernick.

The senior midfielder recorded an assist and scored the go-ahead goal all in the second half to lead the Quakers to a 2-1 victory in Moorestown.

Junior Nate Rivera tallied the game-tying goal off of Vernick’s assist to begin the second half.

Vernick scored his game-deciding goal off an assist from Jonathan Trzeciak.

Junior Ryan Takio had three saves in net for Moorestown to help hold Mainland (10-7-2) scoreless during the second half.

Moorestown (18-3) will host four-seed Toms River South in the semifinals
