ALEXANDRIA — At five yards a carry, the No. 3-seeded Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton Rebels wore out the No. 2-seeded Pierz Pioneers for a 28-7 win in the Class 3A State Quarterfinals Friday, Nov. 7, at Alexandria High School.

Three DGF players rushed for at least 71 yards. Brady Luebke led the Rebels with 102 yards and two touchdowns on 22 carries. Jace Baumgartner, the Rebels’ leading rusher on the season, gained 91 yards on 11 carries. Quarterback Brady Wadena rushed for 71 yards and two touchdowns on 13 carries.

“It’s what we hang our hat on,” DGF head coach Anthony Soderberg said. “We like to run the ball and be physical up front. It turns into a possession game when we do it like that and we were able to get two takeaways and that was a major difference in the score.”
