[AMES, Iowa] — The Iowa Department of Transportation is prepared for the upcoming winter weather. Crews are ready to keep roads safe and clear.
Craig Bargfrede, Winter Operations Administrator for Iowa DOT, said, "I know those guys have been prepping equipment. I know some garages have been going out and anti-icing on bridges just in preparation for the event."
About 200 to 300 plows could be deployed to manage the anticipated conditions.
Drivers are urged to exercise caution, particularly around plow trucks. The 511 service offers real-time road conditions to ensure safe travel.
