LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Mid-Michigan is going to see its first snow of the season, and while it may only be a light amount, the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) has already begun preparing.
“We’ve got our teams in order, and we’ve done all the equipment checks. We’ve got all the salt that we need, so yeah, we’re ready to go, we got all the personnel in place,” Aaron Jenkins, a department spokesperson, said.
And as MDOT readies itself for the wintery weather, Jenkins says, drivers should too.
“We ask that you are careful when you’re driving around snowplows; there are new rules in effect as far as the distance when you are behind those,” he said.
