David Smith again put on a dominant display on the ground by scoring five rushing touchdowns to lead top-seeded Butler to a 49-13 win over fourth-seeded New Milford, in the semifinals of the 2025 NJSIAA/Xfinity Football State Championships North 1, Group 1 playoffs, in Butler.

The unbeaten Bulldogs (10-0) will host second-seeded Kinnelon in the sectional final on Friday, Nov. 14. Butler will be looking to defend the N1G1 title the team won last season.
