Households across England with log burners could be hit with fines of up to £300 for making a common mistake this winter.
With November now here and temperatures set to plummet further as winter approaches, many people will be firing up their log burners to stay warm and comfortable. However, changes to legislation mean that residents living in smoke control areas need to pay close attention to the amount of smoke their burner produces, as exceeding the limit could lead to substantial penalties.
