Coventry City Council has announced road closures ahead of this weekend's Remembrance Day Parade. This year also marks the 85th anniversary of the Coventry Blitz which took place on 14 November 1940.
To mark the two anniversaries the city will come together for an array of public events and activities to commemorate the lives lost, the damage done to the city, but also celebrate the resilience and spirit of Coventry people who came together to rebuild their city.
Thousands of people are expected to attend the Remembrance event at the War Memorial Park, starting on Sunday with a two minutes silence at the cenotaph at 11am. The lord mayor and Bishop of Coventry are expected to attend, as well as members of the armed forces, both past and present.
