On Nov. 5, Yuma City Council held a public hearing to consider the annexation of a property located west of the southwest corner of 40th Street and Avenue 4½E.

The about 66-acre property is divided into four parcels and the 40th Street and Avenue 4½E right-of-ways.

“The City of Yuma received a request from Cha Cha to annex the larger parcel within this annexation area with the intent to market the site for industrial development,” said Erika Peterson, community planning.

The Cha Cha parcel, and another parcel owned by Humane Society of Yuma, are currently undeveloped.

The other two parcels, owned by JD&B Yuma RP and Tangerine & Tonic are currently being used for citrus groves.
