During the past few seasons, Edgar coach Jerry Sinz has made going for a two-point conversion instead of an extra-point kick after the Wildcats first touchdown a custom.
On Friday, Nov. 7, it paid dividends, being the deciding factor in Edgar snatching a 8-7 victory over Bonduel in Level 3 of the WIAA football tournament – helping the Wildcats advance to the state qualifier next Friday.
The win places the Wildcats in the state qualifier game for the third consecutive season, and it took all 48 minutes to get the job done .
Entering the Division 6 Level 3 matchup unbeaten, the Wildcats hopes for a perfect season and third consecutive title was in sudden danger entering the second half of play at their home field.
