LACONIA – Derek Summers and his Portsmouth Christian Academy girls soccer team certainly remembered how their season ended last season – a loss to Profile in a Division IV semifinal.
One year later, Portsmouth Christian had an opportunity to get some revenge as it played Profile, the two-time defending state champion, on Friday, Nov. 7 in the Division IV championship game at Bank of New Hampshire Stadium.
Sophomore Brie Mullins’ goal with 9 minutes left in the first half gave second-seed PCA a 1-0 lead, and Sylvie Wamberg, an eighth-grader, scored two goals in the second half as Portsmouth Christian beat No. 8 Profile, 3-0, for the program’s first championship.
“We played our best soccer at the end of the season, that’s always good to see,” Summers said. “We dominated the play tonight.
