Health authorities have issued a nationwide recall of various alfalfa sprouts due to a salmonella outbreak.

At least 44 people across Australia have fallen ill so far.

The affected sprouts produced by Parilla Fresh were sold in major supermarkets and independent grocers in all states and territories except Western Australia and Tasmania.

The contaminated products include:

Aussie Sprouts, Alfalfa Sprouts, Hugo's Alfalfa Onion & Garlic Sprouts, Hugo's Alfalfa Radish Sprouts, Hugo's Alfalfa & Onion Sprouts, Hugo's Salad Sprouts, Hugo's Alfalfa & Broccoli Sprouts and Hugo's Trio Sprouts Selection.

Parilla Fresh says the contaminated products all have use-by dates up to and including November 20th 2025.
