West Coast coach Daisy Pearce has stressed the pain of losing finals is an important and necessary part of the road to success, saying her group will learn a lot from their 41-point loss to Carlton on Saturday.

The Eagles were no match for the Blues in the second half of their elimination final at IKON Park, conceding seven goals and kicking only one to lose 9.6 (60) to 2.7 (19) in the club’s first AFLW final .

Pearce said while the team was shattered, they would benefit from going through that experience.

“The great foundation we’ve laid is their belief and their want to get in and work together. We’ve got that now,” she said.
