AVON, Ohio – Avon wasted no time establishing dominance Friday night at Avon Mark Wahlberg Chevrolet Stadium, scoring touchdowns on its first four offensive possessions to defeat Olmsted Falls 46-13 in a Division II, Region 6 quarterfinal playoff game.
The Eagles won the coin toss and elected to receive, then used three explosive plays to build a 26-0 first-quarter lead they never relinquished. Quarterback Blake Elder connected with Grant Barr on a 63-yard touchdown pass, receiver Fin Jerdonek broke loose on a 64-yard reverse, and Elder found Barr again on a 33-yard scoring strike with 31 seconds remaining in the opening quarter.
