Good news for students from Garo Hills — they will no longer have to travel overnight to Shillong to sit for Meghalaya Public Service Commission (MPSC) examinations.

“Many would arrive tired and go straight to the exam hall without rest. With this new facility, students can now appear for exams and interviews right here in Tura,” said Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma, while inaugurating the new MPSC Office at Dakopgre, Tura, on Saturday.

The Chief Minister said the new office would end the long-standing hardship faced by aspirants from the Garo Hills, who earlier had to endure “10 to 15 hours overnight to Shillong” to appear for competitive exams.
