A 40-year-old woman in Uttar Pradesh's Hamirpur has died after being fatally attacked during an attempted sexual assault by a 14-year-old boy, police reported.
According to police, the woman was attacked by the Class 9 boy on November 3 while she was cutting grass in the fields. When the boy attempted to sexually assault her, she resisted. He then allegedly attacked her with a sickle and a stick, causing severe injuries.
Villagers found her bleeding in the field and rushed her to a nearby hospital. She was later shifted to a facility in Chandigarh, where she succumbed to her injuries on Wednesday night during treatment.
The police recovered a sickle, a stick, a broken scale, and pieces of a pen from the crime scene. During interrogation, the minor reportedly confessed to the attack. He
