Batala Police wins national honour for mobile recovery drive
Trace over 1,100 lost phones, a first in Punjab

Batala (Punjab), November 8, 2025: Setting a new benchmark in citizen service, Batala Police has become the first police district in Punjab to trace and return the highest number of missing mobile phones — over 1,100 devices worth approximately ₹2.20 crore — through a tech-driven public initiative.
Launched under the guidance of DGP Gaurav Yadav, IPS, and Special DGP Cyber Crime, the Cyber Crime Police Station, Batala, initiated the campaign “Tuhada Gumm Hoia Mobile Hun Wapis Tuhade Hath” (“Your Lost Mobile is Now Back in Your Hands”) about a year ago.
