Former U.S. President Joe Biden talked up recent election results for the Democrats during a speech in Omaha on Friday.
The address in Nebraska at the annual Ben Nelson gala was his second public apperance in the past week and second since completing a round of radiation therapy treatment for the aggressive form of prostate cancer he was diagnosed with after leaving office.
"I thank God for the doctors and nurses and the incredible breakthroughs we're making in cancer research," he said.
Earlier in the week, voters in races across the country backed Democrats, including in New York’s mayoral race and contests for governor in New Jersey and Virginia, rejecting President Donald Trump’s late and lightweight push for his preferred candidates.
Democrats also secured another expected win in California, where voters approved a new congressional map that is designed to help their party win five more U.S. House seats in next year’s midterm elections.
