When you elect a major Trump ally to Congress, there might be some drama.

That's what happened to New York's 21st Congressional District, when it re-elected U.S. Rep. Elise Stefanik, who had been on President Donald Trump's short list of vice presidential candidates.

The district has included Herkimer County for years, but redistricting added Rome and the northern half of Oneida County to the district in January.

U.S. Rep Elise Stefanik, just in case you missed the news, announced Friday morning , Nov. 7 that she’s running against incumbent Kathy Hochul, a Democrat, to be the next governor of New York.

But she is already the Congresswoman for the northern half of Oneida County, including Rome, and Herkimer County.
