Today’s weather starts off foggy in spots. As the day progresses, temperatures will climb into the low to mid-80s for most areas. The coastal counties will be a bit cooler, with highs in the upper 70s.
Keep an eye out for brief heavy downpours and sporadic lightning, which are the main hazards today.
Looking ahead to Sunday, a strong cold front will sweep southeast across the region. This front will bring a chance of showers and thunderstorms, although precipitation chances remain fairly low due to the dry air currently in place.
Temperatures on Sunday will be on the warm side of normal, with highs in the lower to mid 80s as southwest winds push warmer air into the area. But as the front passes, cold air will move in from the northwest Sunday night through Monday night.
