Controversial director Vivek Agnihotri recently came up with ‘The Bengal Files,’ the third and final part of his Files Trilogy (The Tashkent Files, The Kashmir Files). The movie is based on “Direct Action Day,” called by the All-India Muslim League, which led to large-scale violence between Hindus and Muslims. The movie was denied screening in West Bengal, and both the opposition and ruling parties blamed each other for the release not taking place.
Some claimed that the movie portrays Hindu genocide in a distorted manner, but all the controversy didn’t help the film a bit, as it went without a trace at the box office. The latest update reveals that The Bengal Files will be available for streaming on ZEE5 from November 21. It remains to be seen how the film will be received in the digital
