If you look at a food truck and think of it as being someone’s small hobby business, you haven’t met Russ and Kimberly Nockerts, owners of Steel Belly Barbecue.

The Algoma residents, who never owned a business prior to this, are proof of what exceptional quality and hard work can do. In just a few years, one food truck has become two along with a commercial kitchen and growth that has meant a staff of 10.

Even they are surprised at the direction their lives have taken. Russ had a career path that included welding and fabrication, equipment sales, and teaching shop classes at Algoma High School. His wife worked full time in customer service positions.
