COLLEGEVILLE — Landon Danner played 10 games at quarterback for Rosemount during his junior season in high school.

He didn't throw much for the Irish, passing for 244 yards, three touchdowns and five interceptions that fall. He was more dangerous as a runner, with 71 carries for 359 yards and six TDs and he helped guide Rosemount to the Class 6A state championship game. The Irish lost 27-10 to Maple Grove at U.S. Bank Stadium, finishing 12-1.

Danner expected to be the team's No. 1 quarterback going into his senior season. But his head coach, Jeff Erdmann, had an idea to float by Danner first. Erdmann knew the Irish needed help at linebacker and tight end in 2023 and Danner's 6-foot-2, 215-pound frame fit the bill.
