India secured the five-match T20 International series against Australia 2-1 after the fifth and final game was abandoned due to rain on Saturday.
Batting first, India started strong with openers Abhishek Sharma (23 not out off 13 balls) and Shubman Gill (29 not out off 16 balls) attacking from the outset.
However, play was halted due to lightning with India at 52 for no loss in 4.5 overs. Heavy rain soon followed at the Gabba, leading to the match being called off.
Earlier in the game, Australia missed opportunities to dismiss the dangerous Abhishek early on.
Glenn Maxwell dropped a straightforward catch after Abhishek mistimed a shot in the first over, and Ben Dwarshuis missed a routine catch in the fourth over when Abhishek was on 11.
