Breast cancer incidence rates in the UK have increased by about 18% since the early 1990s, with much of it accounted for by increased cases in younger women. The increase is particularly notable in women aged 20 - 49, and in the UK the incidence in women under 50 has risen by about 1.4% annually between 2012 and 2022, compared to 1% per year for older women.
On Saturday, presenter Davina McCall revealed she has been diagnosed with breast cancer and underwent surgery three weeks ago.
