Pune: The Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) has initiated an aggressive recovery campaign across the Pune circle to collect ₹436 crore in unpaid electricity bills from over 8.44 lakh defaulting consumers. The drive, which resumed after the festive slowdown during Dussehra and Diwali, began in full force this November.
According to official data, the Pune circle caters to more than 38 lakh consumers, of which 8,44,381 have pending dues amounting to ₹436.49 crore as of November 6. To accelerate recovery, MSEDCL has deployed sub-division-wise teams and set collection targets for each staff member.
