Pakistan has suspended the Jaffar Express train service for three days on grounds of security after intelligence suggested threats from the Tehreek-e-Taliban (TTP) sleeper cells and Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) fighters, top intelligence sources told CNN-News18.
The train service will be suspended from November 9 to 11. Sources indicated that the TTP and BLA fighters are targeting rail infrastructure and passenger movement along the Quetta-Zhob and Bolan sections in their campaign against the Pakistan military.
Intelligence sources said they suspected joint attacks or sabotage attempts to target the political and military movements in Pakistan’s restive Balochistan province. There are also changes of increased cross-border militant coordination as ties between Pakistan and Afghanis
