PARADISE — In 2018, Jen Goodlin was living in Colorado Springs with her husband and children, establishing a life she describes as “cookie cutter.”
Then, her childhood home of Paradise suffered the devastating Camp Fire on Nov. 8. Wanting to support the community and help her kids build character, Goodlin and her husband moved their family to the ridge.
Speaking about moving her children she said, “I could tell them, ‘Oh, my town just burned down. Life is hard. Get through it. Or I could take them there and show them how to get through it,” she said.
She and her husband bought a plot of land in 2019 and moved back to Paradise in 2020.
