NEW YORK (PIX11) – SNAP recipients may want to check their EBT cards after New York Gov. Kathy Hochul directed all state agencies to fully fund the program in November.
Hochul made the announcement on X on Friday, saying:
"I've just directed state agencies to fully fund federal SNAP benefits for November. President Trump's actions have been senseless and un-American. I'll never stop fighting for New York's families."
New Yorkers were originally expected to get partial SNAP benefits after two federal judges ruled that the Trump administration must pay for the program. One of the judges ruled that the federal government has to fund SNAP fully in November, but an appeal filed by the Department of Justice was granted late Friday, allowing for partial payments.
