DALLAS — The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) began implementing air traffic reductions at DFW Airport and Dallas Love Field, among others around the country, Friday amid the federal government shutdown, and dozens of flights are delayed or canceled Saturday, according to FlightAware.
As of around 11:50 a.m. Saturday, DFW Airport is experiencing departure delays of 15 minutes on average because staffing, according to FlightAware.
FAA air traffic reductions come as air traffic controllers have been working without pay since the start of the shutdown on Oct. 1 and are showing signs of strain, according to the FAA.
