THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Enforcement Directorate seized assets worth Rs 67.03 crore belonging to the banned organisation Popular Front. The assets include SDPI land in Thiruvananthapuram, Education and Culture Trust in Pandalam, Islamic Centre Trust in Wayanad, Periyar Valley Charitable Trust in Aluva, and Valluvanadan Trust in Palakkad. So far, assets worth Rs 129 crore have been seized by the Popular Front of India.

The Central Government banned the activities of the Popular Front of India for 5 years in 2022. The ban was imposed by the Union Home Ministry after considering the threat to national security and law and order.
